Spider Control: Tips To Get Rid Of Spiders
January 28, 2012
Spiders are a source of fear for many people, despite their beneficial hunting of insects in our homes. Their predatory instincts are one of the reasons we find them knocking at our doors. Our homes and businesses provide harborage and food for countless other insects that spiders prey on.
Here are a few different ways to get rid of spiders in your house:
Eliminate food sources: One of the best ways to reduce a spider population is to get rid of their food source. This encourages spiders to look for food elsewhere, outside of your home.
Remove webs: Vacuuming existing spider webs will discourage them from rebuilding in the same area. Continuously keeping up on webs will help keep them out.
Replace outdoor light bulbs: Installation of sodium light bulbs on the exterior of structures reduces the attraction of night flying insects, another spider snack favorite.
Eliminate clutter: Keep cluttered areas at a minimum, as spiders will take advantage of any small dark and dry hiding spot.
